Matt's in the Market brought one of the first culinary series of its kind to Seattle in the Spring of 2012 and continued the series in 2013 and 2014.
We welcomed five critically acclaimed and award winning chefs, including James Beard Award Winners, Food and Wine Magazine's Best New Chefs, and a Top Chef Masters winner.
Each dinner consisted of six courses with Matt's in the Market's Chef Shane Ryan and the guest chefs alternating courses throughout the evening and collaborating on one course. Guest chefs toured Pike Place Market with Chef Shane Ryan before each dinner to plan their market-influenced dishes. Our intent is to raise awareness of the remarkable bounty that Pike Place Market has to offer and the importance of open market has to the people of a city, its surrounding restaurants, and the greater culinary world.
