Executive Chef Matt Fortner

As a man from Tennessee, Chef Matt Fortner knows how to embrace and enrich each community he is a part of. After attending a year of culinary school in Seattle, Chef Fortner cultivated his career at Seattle classics from Marjorie, How to Cook a Wolf, Tavolata, and most recently at Trattoria Cuoco and Lola.

As a long-time admirer of Matt’s in the Market, Chef Fortner has recognized the impact and influence of one of Seattle’s most quintessential Seattle restaurants and seized the opportunity to continue his culinary creations.

Chef Fortner’s passion of using farm fresh ingredients from Pike Place Market makes him the perfect fit for continuing the Matt’s in the Market tradition of celebrating the bounty of the market and the influence of Pacific Northwest cuisine in Seattle.

In his spare time, you can catch Chef Fortner admiring fast cars, enjoying cocktails, camping, and watching football.
