Owner Dan Bugge may look familiar: during eleven years of appearing daily as a star “fish thrower” at the famed Pike Place Fish Market, he was also seen on countless TV news and entertainment shows, including The Tonight Show, A Cook’s Tour with Anthony Bourdain, Martha Stewart, and Grilling with Bobby Flay, among many others.

“I couldn’t be more excited to finally take over the helm at Matt’s, a spot I’ve dreamed of running since I first came to the Market. I’ve always known that I wanted to work only in the Pike Place Market, and taking on Matt’s is a natural next step up from all my experience handling only the best seafood, and getting to know the rest of the fantastic products the Market has to offer all year round," says Dan.

After spending over a year as co-owner and working partner, soaking up all the knowledge about the business directly from Matt himself, Dan has guided the restaurant to an ever brighter future while remaining true to its traditions.
